TRIBAL SCI FI DRAWN PAINTINGS: THE FOSSIL SERIES
This is a detail from Fossil Series No. 11: approx 6' x 6' ( 72" x 72")
Charcoal on paper with acrylic collaged on vinyl. The rest of the pieces from this series are Collaged on stretched canvas and range in size and shape from 16" x 16" to 41" x 45". Others are vertical and elongated and several are sculptural as well with paper mache extensions and texture. There is a mini series of those measuring 40" x 45" which connect when arranged together to create almost a wall of bone. These pieces are the result of countless hours sprawled out on the floor of the American Museum of Natural History drawing the Fossils...and then taking those drawings, cutting them out and collaging them in layers to create a mood of "TRIBAL SCI FI".

Each of these works is a powerful piece of art on its own.
In addition I look forward to collaboration with other genres such as film, theater, dance, theme interiors etc...that seek to create extraordinary or otherworldly environments through set and costume design.
