This photograph is from a series of self portraits in which I have painted my own body as though it is one of the figures on my painted chifon veils. (note: some images of the veil paintings are also on this site).

This is one image of many from this specific series. There are numerous series of self portraits with varying themes and in diverse environments. Rather than hiring models, I prefer to use my own body or those of friends since it allows for more experimentation, flexibility and playfulness in the art-making experience. Photography for me is not about "capturing" images. It's about joyfully CREATING them.
