This image is from a series taken in a bathroom in Errezil, Basque Country, Spain. Many of the various Bathroom Series Self Portraits were taken in the homes of friends and acquaintances with whom I've stayed in the course of my world travels. Other images were shot in hotels, hostals, restuarants or other semi public spaces.

I also have numerous other series of self portraits with varying themes and in diverse environments, both indoors and outside. Rather than hiring models I find that using my own body or those of friends allows for more playfulness, flexibility and intimacy in the art-making experience.
Photography for me is NOT about "capturing" images. It's about the process of joyfully CREATING them ...with my toys-- my toys being my camera, my costumes and imagination, my world, my body and my friends.
