Dentsu, one of the world’s largest ad agencies today, invited Clodagh to redesign their Tokyo headquarters. Combining Eastern philosophy and design with Western ideology and technology, Clodagh developed a commercial space that was aesthetically beautiful, culturally sensitive and professionally stimulating. Through the use of Japanese woods and other natural materials, Clodagh explored the sensual side of this office space whereby offering a subtle and more tactile professional experience. She explored the role of up and down light on all surfaces transforming spaces into artistic compositions as well as into successful workstations. Based on a POD approach, elements such as tables, wall lights and furniture carefully cradle the surrounding curvilinear walls to create a warm cocoon of public spaces. The subtle sensitivity to space, materials and nature speaks to the heart of Japanese design and the soul of Japanese culture.
