This VISUAL JOURNAL is an ongoing project of transparent painted drawings. Each page is a painting on clear plastic. The pages, like one's life experiences, are then sandwiched together in unlimited combinations to view life's experiences in relation to each other. An event from a last year combined with what happened yesterday creates and entirely new painting. Although in this photograph, the piece appears to have a white background, it does not. These pieces are TRANSPARENT. The white in this photograph is from the pages being photographed on top of something white. If held freely in the air, the pages are clear and with color. Some of my "journalistic" paintings on plastic are approx 8" x 11" and others, such as the "History of My Heart" series are large covering a floor area of approx 12 feet. by 30" (Note: the specific pages of journal here may vary from day to day and on some days pages from "The History of My Heart" series will be displayed.

This type of imagery would be extraordinary in an interior painted on panels of glass or plastic, windows, doors, sliding screens, translucent divisions between rooms or floors. I envision this work to extend far beyond the "rearrangeable see-through book" that it is. I welcome collaboration with theatrical or dance set design as well as in creating otherworldly interiors of translucent layering.
